Reverie! It's coming back!

3/30/11
I spent time getting the first page of Reverie polished, and worked hands separately on the second page (although I read it hands together once). This piece is so beautiful!! It's coming back pretty quickly, and I'm remembering all of the problems I used to have with it (and still HAVING a lot of those problems!)

4/5/11
Worked on the reverie. I have the first page down pat. The second page is really hard because of the huge arpeggios in the left hand. I can play the page hands separately but I can't put it together yet. The third page is also pretty much put together. It ends with a double bar, so I think I'm going to set a goal to complete the piece up to the double bar by the end of the week.
Reverie

Reverie. Did a run-thru (of the first three pages) to start, then worked on spots. The arpeggios are still really the biggest issue. My goal to get the piece completed up to the double bar worked pretty well, although I wouldn't consider it polished yet. It was hard because I lost Thursday to the concert, which I didn't plan for when I created the goal.

I'm to the point where I can just play through at LEAST the first page, although not being able to play over the break brought down the quality of the rest of the piece. I'm working on getting the second and third pages back to where they were before the break, and today I read through the last two pages just to see what I'd be working with. They are VERY difficult. It's going to take some time to master these last two pages.

Ran the first three pages of Reverie, worked a couple of spots where the fingering was tripping me up.
I'm going to start working on the Fantasia in D Minor, because it's nice and easy and will give me a confidence boost. Plus I love it!

4/27/11
I read through the entire Fantasia in D Minor. It will probably only take a couple more classes to have it polished.

Fantasia again

5/11/11
Fantasia. I ran it. The last D major section is my biggest challenge, so I worked on that part hands separately a bit.

5/19/11
I worked on the Fantasia and the Reverie. They're both shaping up, but the end sections of each need a lot of work.

5/20/11
Worked on the Reverie. I will focus on the last two pages from now on.

5/24/11
I worked on both pieces. I spent most of my time working on the last two pages of both, but I also did a couple of run-throughs of each. They should both be ready by the recital.

5/25/11
I ran the Reverie once without any major mishaps. The ending is slightly modified to be easier, so now I feel quite confident with it. The Fantasia still needs work on the DM section, but the rest of it is in good shape.
